MIA- Mom In Anticipation! It's a boy!

Sorry girls I have been missing in action for a long time now- though all for a good cause!

I was expecting a baby! It was long journey- with my hubby showing all shades of care and protectiveness including and upto limiting the amount of wi-fi and laptop radiation around my growing belly!!!! ( yeah it is harmful-google it! In fact one of my colleagues who lost her baby in the 6th month  inexplicably- she used to frequently put the  laptop on her tummy- who knows if this was THE cause)

Now that my bundle of joy has arrived- a bonny baby boy, I can once more devote more time for blogging!

See ya amigos!

Give your skin good karma with Kama ayurvedics! Rose and Jasmine face wash and mint lip balm

So what do u do when u have tried almost all face washes available in the market- you try a new one! Especially when I wanted to junk all the chemical loaded goop we usually get for a face wash.
All this was more pertinent due to my pregnancy- and Me avoiding most cosmetics due to fears about its effect on a teeny-tiny baby inside! Surely even a miniscule amount of some of those long worded chemical can harm it?

I was scoping out herbal alternatives and that's when I got a chance to try the New kama ayurveda face wash and lip balm- I was more than happy to test them out.

Coming to the products....

Rose Jasmine face cleanser- Rs 540 for 100 ml

Mint lip balm -Rs 395 for 5g

The face wash comes packaged in a luxurious looking carton with gold detailing and the face wash is housed in a plastic bottle with a pump-dispenser.
The first thing you will notice is how delightful it smells, almost like heaven in a bottle!!! That said it boasts of mostly natural ingredients and also salicylic acid- which is good for that errant breakout!
It is a clear liquid which cleaned much better than I actually expected. I like my skin squeaky clean and soft after washing and it does well there.

Coming to the lip balm it is housed in a tub container which I personally don't favour due to mess and hygiene factor. But otherwise it gives good moisturization and healed my chapped lips. As the name suggests it gives a minty feel and tingling sensation when applied which fades after a while.

I would definitely recommend these two for people looking for natural and ayurvedic products. However, they are a bit expensive(yeah I am an Indian and would love to save and bargain anytime!) but considering their wholesome ingredients they are worth it.

Pink Alert! New Maybelline lipsticks in town!!

They are one of the new launches by maybelline which has thankfully decided to shower us with New products lately.

I tried these out and was impressed with unique shades, good pigmentation and good lasting power besides being easy on the pocket!

However, the shades might not suit all indian skintones. Some may even find them garish and unsuitable for dailywear/ officewear.

I for one enjoyed having some bright lippies for summer which don't really burn a hole in my pocket.

I am putting up swatches of pow3 & pow4.Pow3 is a blue based bright pink, pow 4 is a reddish coral- both are creme without any swimmers etc, almost neon and perfect for summers!

Available for Rs. 375 for 3.9g

This cute Clinique chubby stick will make u forget skinnies!!

Name -Clinique  Chubby Stick - mega melon
Price- Rs 1050
Quantity- this is travel size- full size is 3g

 What does the company Say:

Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm provides a sheer hint of colour that glides on effortlessly, leaving behind a natural blush of colour and sheen.

Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm’s highly moisturizing formula uses a special blend of decadent butters, oils and antioxidants to help protect and pamper lips with immediate and lasting moisturization. Infused with Shea Butter, Mango Seed Butter and Jojoba Seed Oil, Chubby Stick delivers a surge of moisture in a sleek stick leaving lips soft, supple and soothed.

My experience-

Its one cute yet functional piece of makeup that begs one-time-try just by The looks of it. Got it with a gwp set- love it but maybe won't buy the full size -in this colour.
It's a twist up pencil that's a breeze to apply- no wastage!
Mega melon looks Lovely peachy brown in tube but applies much sheerer on lips giving only a sheer wash of peach.
On my partially pigmented lips- it works best with a lip liner- very mlbb shade- though only for fair skin tones.
Feels balmy though if applied on chapped/ flaky lips- it clings to dry bits.
Overall good if u require sheer colour with moisturization and pay a bomb for it. Maybe the new moisture intense chubbies will be better! Till then Revlon and loreal lip balms are my best bet!

Pinky swear!!! this bag can be ur wrecked-on-an-island saviour!!

I got this cute bag sometime back and it's one pretty addition to my vanity!
It has four items which could take a girl from not to hot for the day/s!!

It had-

A glow foundation- coral(Rs 150 for 30 ml)
Glow compact -marble ( Rs 150 for 8 g)
Liquid eyeliner- green
Lip gloss - juicy pink( Rs 110 for 9ml)

I liked all items in general though the foundation was a lil dark for my skintone- but blended out it seemed fine . For a second I got scared looking at the shade name-coral, I thought some orange goop would come out-thankfully not!!!

The compact was finely milled and easy to apply. Very smooth and good value foe money.
Both the foundation and compact had a lemongrass kind of scent( like lakme cc cream) whereas I would prefer them unscented.

The eyeliner was a pretty gunmetal green which is a very unique shade and totally a winner- fine brush, good pigmentation and does not smudge unless removed with makeup remover!

The lip gloss was a nice pink shade good for gloss lovers- esp teens and college girls. Maybe I like lipstick too much to really dig this. Though I love their lipsticks a lot -can't beat them fir the price!!!!!

All items are well-priced and total value for money.

I do wish they were better distributed and easier to find- though most online sites have them nowadays.
Also get rid of the scent- takes away from an otherwise decent product!!!

A thumbs up from me!
