Pinky swear!!! this bag can be ur wrecked-on-an-island saviour!!

I got this cute bag sometime back and it's one pretty addition to my vanity!
It has four items which could take a girl from not to hot for the day/s!!

It had-

A glow foundation- coral(Rs 150 for 30 ml)
Glow compact -marble ( Rs 150 for 8 g)
Liquid eyeliner- green
Lip gloss - juicy pink( Rs 110 for 9ml)

I liked all items in general though the foundation was a lil dark for my skintone- but blended out it seemed fine . For a second I got scared looking at the shade name-coral, I thought some orange goop would come out-thankfully not!!!

The compact was finely milled and easy to apply. Very smooth and good value foe money.
Both the foundation and compact had a lemongrass kind of scent( like lakme cc cream) whereas I would prefer them unscented.

The eyeliner was a pretty gunmetal green which is a very unique shade and totally a winner- fine brush, good pigmentation and does not smudge unless removed with makeup remover!

The lip gloss was a nice pink shade good for gloss lovers- esp teens and college girls. Maybe I like lipstick too much to really dig this. Though I love their lipsticks a lot -can't beat them fir the price!!!!!

All items are well-priced and total value for money.

I do wish they were better distributed and easier to find- though most online sites have them nowadays.
Also get rid of the scent- takes away from an otherwise decent product!!!

A thumbs up from me!

( Press samples sent for consideration)

Swatches- foundation, eyeliner, gloss
Blended- left compact, right foundation

The Itsy-bitsy Freebie which won me over! Bourjois Mini Eyeliner-06

Bourjois Color Exciting Mini Eyeliner-06

Price- Unknown

Quantity-0.19g

I got this as a freebie with some bourjois purchases a lil while back. Seriously I was smitten by this lil beauty the first time I saw it! I wanted it so much - I would have paid for it - if it was not free! :P

Bourjois apparently had a mini range too elsewhere in the world- I dunno if it still is sold in other places or only given as freebies... this one was in a sealed plastic pack - so its not a tester.

I would totally ike bourjois to launch the Mini range over here as it will allow us makeup junkies to buy & try more variety with burning smaller holes in our pocket!

This colour is shade-06. Its a lovely colour- a mix of olive+brown+gold - Like a lovely brownish Khaki I think.... It is a twist-up pencil - so no sharpening-no wastage!

It really looks good on my brown eyes- kind of accentuates them in a nice understated way- but I think it will look good on all Indian girls- its such a universally flattering colour- especially when you don't wont full-powered black on your eyes!

The good news is ,,,,,,as told by the SA- this color exciting eyeliner range is launching soon here. :D

Pics & Swatches:
The freebie that deserved its own post! shade - 06

I hope You can see all the lovely colours in this (Its a bit more brown- but difficult to capture all its beauty!)

An Eye for an Eyeliner : Swatches and Review !

Eyeliners have been the favourites with me for instant glam and that hint of colour even on your average-jane-days!

I knew I was an eyeliner person right from the day I started wearing makeup. I started with black.... liquid eyeliner first... then my love for colour eventually showed up! Even then back in the 90's  when makeup brands and choices were very limited in India - I managed to score a silver eyeliner from Elle18 and literally started a new trend in my college at least!

To cut a long story short - You can see how much I love eyeliners from the pics below...

Today i am going to review my growing collection of eyeliners. Most of these are in pencil form as they are the easiest to grab and apply on the go - esp for ms.-always-running-late like moi!

The eyeliners are reviewed as follows:
Left ot right - 1- 20 as listed below

  1. Maxfactor kohl pencil (Black)
  2. Maybelline colossal kajal (Black)
  3. Maybelline unstoppable (Black)
  4. Bourjois Khol &contour (02- Gris igenieux :-greyish black)
  5. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Grey)
  6. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Pink)
  7. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Green)
  8. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Gold)
  9. Lakme glide on eye colour (Turquoise Blue)
  10. Bourjois (36.Lagon ensoleille - turq. Blue)
  11. Clinique cream shaper for eyes (06- Starry plum)
  12. Oriflame hypnotic shimmer eye pencil (Silver Frost) - L.E.
  13. Oriflame hypnotic shimmer eye pencil (Emarald Ice)- L.E.
  14. Oriflame Visionseye-catching eyeliner (Brown eyed girl)
  15. Oriflame Visions Dynamic Duo eyeliner ( Jekyll &Hyde)
  16. Oriflame Visions Dynamic Duo eyeliner (Tom & Jerry)
  17. Oriflame Visions Dyliquid namic Duo eyeliner (Thelma & Louise)
  18. Oriflame Very Me (Liquid Liner) - green
  19. Oriflame Very Me (Lquid Liner ) - Black
  20. Maybelline Color mix - Jade
Now for the swatches: Swatches are in same order as the list above. All swatches in indoor light - no flash.
Swatches: 1-13,  Top row -
  1. Maxfactor kohl pencil (Black)
  2. Maybelline colossal kajal (Black)
  3. Maybelline unstoppable (Black)
  4. Bourjois Khol &contour (02- Gris igenieux )
 Middle Row
  1. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Grey)
  2. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Pink)
  3. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Green)
  4. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Gold)
Bottom Row-
  1. Lakme glide on eye colour (Turquoise Blue)
  2. Bourjois (36.Lagon ensoleille - turq. Blue)
  3. Clinique cream shaper for eyes (06- Starry plum)
  4. Oriflame hypnotic shimmer eye pencil (Silver Frost) - L.E.
  5. Oriflame hypnotic shimmer eye pencil (Emarald Ice)- L.E.

Left to right-
  1. Oriflame Visionseye-catching eyeliner (Brown eyed girl)
  2. Oriflame Visions Dynamic Duo eyeliner ( Jekyll &Hyde) Top & Bottom
  3. Oriflame Visions Dynamic Duo eyeliner (Tom & Jerry) Top & bottom
  4. Oriflame Visions Dynamic Duo eyeliner (Thelma & Louise) Top & bottom
  5. Oriflame Very Me (Liquid Liner) - green
  6. Oriflame Very Me (Lquid Liner ) - Black
  7. Maybelline Color mix - Jade

Finally the marathon Review :
  1. Maxfactor kohl pencil (Black) Rs.220/-- It gives very dark black line- creamy and non-tugging to apply. stays ok on upper lash line but smudges on lower lash line very soon.
  2. Maybelline colossal kajal (Black)Rs. 150/ - BEST value for money. Creamy, smooth, blackest-black, rich pigmentation, non-tugging and Only Rs.150/- and stays put from morning till evening. The inner rims of lower lash line (waterline) fade a little after sometime but magically no panda eyes at all! My current favorite black liner! I have noticed that if you don't remove it properly after wearing it for the day then the gradual build-up of the kajal will make the kajal smudge !!! SO always remove it properly with a makeup remove to keep it smudge-proof!!
  3. Maybelline unstoppable (Black)Rs. 220/- - It tugs the eyes when applied.kinda waxy. Multiple swipes give you a black liner but not the darkest-black as i like.If put on the upper eyelids- it stays good but not so much for waterline
  4. Bourjois Khol &contour  (02- Gris igenieux :-greyish black) Rs. 220/-approx. got it free with my bourjois shopping.... a dark grey matt colour- creamy to apply but smudges easily esp on waterline.
  5. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Grey) Rs.190-220/- All of them are creamy and easy to apply... I dont usethem inside my waterline ...as i only like shades of black/brown there... but on upper lash line - they work pretty good... They have medium to good pigmentation... my first forays into coloured liners after oriflame. Many colours to choose from. All are shimmery kinds. Last long on upper eyelids.
  6. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Pink) - On its own, makes my eyes look a little like i have the pink-eye. best used with black liner below. pearly-mauve-pink in colour.
  7. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Green) - fav of them... great everyday shade - but have to swipe at least 4-5 times to get the colour i want - henna green.
  8. Maybelline eyestudio- Vivid &smooth (Gold)- soft golden colour. best used on eyed with some mascara... gives your eyelids a lift.
  9. Lakme glide on eye colour (Turquoise Blue) Rs.250/- - Soft, creamy and  mainly awesome colour. avg colour pay-off. 2-3 swipes give me the desired turquoise blue colour. lasts long on upper eyelids.
  10. Bourjois (36.Lagon ensoleille - Turq. Blue) - another Freebie - Love it a lot!. a lovely turquoise blue with silver glitter. good pigmentation.
  11. Clinique cream shaper for eyes (06- Starry plum) - Surprisingly not very pigmented- 2-3 swipes required to get true plum colour. Its a dark purple kind of colour i got in a set from clinique -dunno the exact cost of this. Long-lasting and creamy enough to not tug eyelids. But i wish the colour was a bit more bright. Subtle shimmer only makes the colour less opaque for me.
  12. Oriflame hypnotic shimmer eye pencil (Silver Frost) - L.E. Dont remember the original price but i got them for Rs.120/-or something. Soft and creamy to apply. good pigmentation.nice metallic silver colour.
  13. Oriflame hypnotic shimmer eye pencil (Emarald Ice)- L.E. - very pretty colour. true to name - stays long on upper eyelids. wish it was a permanent liner in oriflame.soft like a dream.
