Pink Alert! New Maybelline lipsticks in town!!

They are one of the new launches by maybelline which has thankfully decided to shower us with New products lately.

I tried these out and was impressed with unique shades, good pigmentation and good lasting power besides being easy on the pocket!

However, the shades might not suit all indian skintones. Some may even find them garish and unsuitable for dailywear/ officewear.

I for one enjoyed having some bright lippies for summer which don't really burn a hole in my pocket.

I am putting up swatches of pow3 & pow4.Pow3 is a blue based bright pink, pow 4 is a reddish coral- both are creme without any swimmers etc, almost neon and perfect for summers!

The Sweetest Thing : MAC I Love Winter Lipstick from Sultry Delights!

This collection was lauched long back... and as much a s I love it ... it never got reviewed.
But I really just had to show you how lovely this lipstick is... its the most soft neutral pink with a hint of coral....just the kind I was looking for.....  Its accompanied by a suitable gloss and lip liner....
but the lipstick looks gorgeous even on its own!

Finally I have managed to do the swacthes of my Inglot haul!

BUT first.... let me tell you the whole story....

Me and my sis were busy hopping around select citywalk in saket... when we saw inglot... she wanted to get some things... I wanted to get a palette for my freedom system haul...

To cut a long story short... Both of us ended up buying the Freedom palettes (completely filled for her... half for me!) See that's what you do when you walk in Inglot -can't get enough of those lovely rainbow hues surrounding you!!!

A Tale of 2 Lipsticks! Estee Lauder Long Lasting Lipsticks : Swatches!

Estee Lauder Long Lasting Lipstick Rouge - Rose Tea & Bois de Rose

I got these 2 lipsticks as part of  4 lipstick set from their holiday collection 2010. They are in a pretty gold metallic case due to this reason(different from their normal packing).
These two shades are however my favourite among them. I think Estee Lauder has some very good sophisticated shades which will suit a lot of Indian women.

The following shades are among my favourites as they have no shimmer... good pigmentation and look lovely on my skin tone!
So without blabbering much I would like to show you these two absolutely gorgeous shades!

Lip Loves: My Favourite Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks : Review & Swatches

Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks- Mauve, Soft Rose, Fuchsia

This is a much delayed post for one lipstick I really love and adore which is Revlon Colorburst! I bought one in the colour Mauve when they launched, fell in love with it- and now I have three of them (with plenty on my mind for my next trip to the mall!)

By now all of you must be aware about the rave reviews this lipsrtick has got (not without reason!).
Revlon has now extended this line to include Lip glosses too - I bought one in papaya recently ( Review coming soon!)
This post is about my favourite colours from the colorburst lipsticks. I like creamy colours better than shimmery one and avoid frosted lipsticks like the plague! So here they are.....

What the colours look like on lips!

Yay's

• It is beautiful to look at - elegant design and packaging !
• It is very moisturizing and comfortable to wear
• Long-Lasting - about 4-5 hours ... will leave a beautiful tint even after it fades (evenly!)
• Does not dry the lips or emphasize lip lines
• The coloured top of the cap helps in locating the right colour (esp if u have a huge bunch of them!)

Nay's 

• Expensive - The tag of 580/- does limit how many shades u will buy!
• The pigmentation will not give you a 'burst' of colour in 1 swipe flat :( which means you have to swipe it 2-3 times at least to get the true colour on lips.(which also means you will run out of this lipstick faster!)
• Some new colours are not launched in India!

The Last Word:
If you are a lipstick-lover - You MUST HAVE one of these in ur kit ! They will soon become a staple in ur purse...:)
As for me i am already looking for excuses to buy another one... :P

Colour me Happy ! My 4 Favourite Avon Ultra color Rich Lipsticks : Review & Swatches

I wanted to try these Avon lippies - as I wanted to add some fun, new colours to my collection - at a lower cost!So when they came on offer - I ordered these shades immediately- I crossed my fingers and waited for my package!
I am always apprehensive about choosing lipstick from a catalogue- inevitably the colours will not be what you thought - resulting in some disappointment !
I did some research and ordered carefully - overlooking the swatches in catalogue!


However my research paid off - I am very happy with all the colours (for the first time in a blind shopping spree!! ) All of the are creamy(non-shimmery- Thanks god!) and bright, fun colours - just what I wanted!

Yay's 

• Good pigmentation - 1 swipe will give you rich colour 
• Texture is smooth to apply
• Available in many shades(25) with all kind of finishes - creamy, shimmery and sequinned - I prefer creamy! (All 4 shades shown here are from creamy range.)
• Almost free from any strong perfume/aroma- very faint lipstick smell can be traced if smelled closely!
• Gives good lasting power for its price - about 3 hours or so.
• The packaging is good enough - Plain black sturdy oval kinda bullet with a silver ring in the middle!

Nay's

• With all the time fuller is mentioned - I don't think it enhances your natural lip size!
• Swatches given in brochure are NEVER accurate! So always better to research online for swatches or ask your  Avon representative for trials!
  

The Last Word:

Its certainly a good lipstick to have in your collection - if anything for trying out new colours. Does give full value for money! Brochure swatches should be more accurate - also please include more creamy, wearable shades- like corals and peaches! (I wonder who wears all those dark browns and maroons ALL the time??)
The shades mentioned above should take the guesswork out of your search for nice wearable bright colours - in summers as well as winters!
