Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush - Rose : Swatches & Review

Physicians Formula Happy Booster  Glow & Mood boosting Blush - Rose
Price- $ 11.95 (About Rs. 550/- BUT costs over Rs.1000/- on E-bay)

Quantity- 7g

I had been eying this beauty ever since it was launched - tried to not give into the temptation - by telling myself all sorts of things -like....
 - I don't need another pink blush!
- It would  probably not suit my skin tone!
- Overpriced for a drugstore brand!
- Will get it cheaper later
- It's just a Phase - it will pass

BUT it refused to leave my mind.... i kept checking and rechecking the price on E-bay, It was always hovering around 1000/- Me thinking- Should I pay double the price for it???
Luckily e-bay sent me a coupon for Rs 250/- and I ordered it immediately since at 750/- it seemed a good deal!! :)

Pictures & Swatches:
Happy Booster - Blush & Bronzer
It was love at first sight!

So Cute- Makes my heart flutter!

Different colours in the blush (applied with a heavy hand)

All blended together

Yay's
  •  The Design! Just look at the cute hearts - you'd have to have a heart of stone to be able to resist its charms - It apparently was much sought after when it launched  around Valentines Day!( Something similar was also launched from the brand Stila)
  • This gives a natural pink blush look - the other shade (Natural) might be too light for Indian skin-tones
  • Also available in a range of Powders and Bronzers
  • Hypoallergenic. Non-comedogenic. Paraben-free. Dermatologist approved!
  • No apparent, overpowering smell when applied (good thing for me and other sensitive-noses!)
  • Easy to blend - the subtle shimmer adds to the overall glow and its not chunky or blingy
  • The design is pretty deep - so it won't get ruined for sometime
Nay's
  • Not available in India - you would have to hunt it down on  E-bay and likes - where it will be much overpriced! Recently the company also hiked the prices.
  •

The Last Word: If  you can't get it outta your mind - get with it! Even if it's only to look at it and sigh! Ahhhh...

What the company Says: Natural radiance blush with amazing air – soft feel.

Blended

Yay's
  • Almost all claims by company are true - feel light, air-whipped, blends easily.
  • Gives an air-brushed effect - the best matte looking blush
  • Fine shimmer particles are not very prominent in this shade
  • Good pricing

Nay's
  •  Not all that long-lasting on its own -I  mean at the end of office hours - with all that sweating and wiping - it does come off BUT with primer and cheek stain - it should last more
  • Only 2 shades  available in India!!! Who actually decided that Indians can wear only 2 shades of blush?
  • Tub packaging !
  • Glass tub - feels less travel-friendly and purse-heavy!
The Last Word: Luking for a matte pink blush which will give you an air-brush effect - it wont come cheaper than this!

Bourjois Lipliner : Review & Swatches

A while back i was trying to find a specific shade of light pink lipliner.... my usual maybelline didn't seem to have a matte(non-shimmer) pink liner... here i bumped into Bourjois....where amazingly i find it AND it still costs only 225 bucks! yippeeee!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah yeah i know - u could buy a lakme lippie in that amount... but well ...the deal will be sealed when you see the shades!

Lest you think i am a lipliner junkie....I first bought only two of them.. i wish they even make lipsticks in this smooth matte formulation - as i love mattes! About the third one - well my chambor nude one was running out - so i got an excuse to get another one !

Here they are :Introducing Bourjois Levres contour
Top to bottom - Framboise exquise (18), rose precieux (15),Enjoleuse (11)

Enjoleuse- Nudey peach

Rose precieux -bubblegum pink

Framboise exquise- bright raspberry pink

Left to Right - Enjoleuse, Rose precieux, Framboise exquise

Left to Right - Enjoleuse, Rose precieux, Framboise exquise
They are soft & creamy, available in many shades and are reasonably priced. AND I love the names ... everything sounds sexier in french!

So if you are looking for a lipliner... pick these babies up for sure!

P.S. - Can be used as a matte lipstick to fill lips and they feel comfy enough (my lips are not overly dry)

Elizabeth Arden Exceptional Lipstick - Fiesta : Review & swatches!

Today I am going to review one of my favourite Pink lipsticks - Elizabeth Arden exceptional lipstick - Fiesta (30)

What the company says:
Exceptional in every way. A creamy, long-wearing lipstick with staying power and shine. One coat is just enough.

I got this as a gwp free with some other stuff i ordered from E-bay... it turned out better than other 2 lipsticks from the holiday 2010 collection... will review them later.

Now for the Pics

Yay's
  • Pretty pink colour ( a raspberry-ish pink) with no shimmer at all - just the way i like it, somehow my lips always look better in no-shimmer, frost-free lipsticks - though shimmery glosses can look good!
  • Last a long time 4-5 hours depending on how much you eat and drink
  • Comfortable on lips - not drying
  • Good pigmentation - gives full colour even in one swipe.
Nay's
  •  Expensive  - though exact price is not known - It costs $19.50 in US
All in all a pretty colour -not something u find easily in indian brands - good for a gwp lipstick!

NOTD - Maybelline Colorama Coral Chic

I seem to be getting more and more attracted to this lovely shade - coral!

Though I am still searching for my perfect coral shade... here is a nail color in a lovely coral hue!

This is gonna be quickie one:

What the company claims:
  • High-gloss nail color with 5 day wear!
  • Combine a visually stunning palette of pigments, pearls and glitters
  • It’s the ultimate accessory that transforms your look from day to night, fun to funky and classic to daring…in a flash
MY TAKE

First the lovely pics

Yay's
  • Pretty colour - perfect to put a pop of colour on such muggy, humid days!
  • Lasts about 4-5 days (all maybelline colorama kinda last longish on me - no ugly chipping/peeling! only some mild damage at the edges which doesn't look odd)
  • Reasonably priced at Rs. 85/-
  • Very fine golden shimmer which doesn't show up on nails
Nay's
  • Takes 2 coats to show its true colour.
All in all a lovely pick me up for ur duh! days.
